THE FRIENDS OF PUBLIC SCHOOL ASSOCIATION

1991 – Present

Right to education for all

After the end of the Lebanese civil war, the founder decided to address the dire situation of the Public Schooling system, with the goal of providing all students with quality education. “The Friends of Public-School Association” was born.

It has been working since its inception on strengthening elementary education in Lebanese public schools, by engaging different stakeholders such as the Ministry of Education, parents, teachers, school administrators and community leaders.

The association has been benefiting many public schools by securing English language teachers and material, providing transport to students and teachers, organizing evening classes in preparation of Lebanese official exams and holding summer classes.

Goals of the Friends of Public School Association

Support public schools in meeting their educational responsibilities towards the development of future generations.

Promote cooperation between public and private schools.

Encourage the establishment of similar associations in other regions of Lebanon.

Advise for the creation of a Friends of Public School committee in each public school.
